Advising Responsibilities

The Responsibilities of the Dean

The Dean is responsible for ensuring that accurate and timely academic advising is provided to all students in the school in their respective majors.  The Dean should encourage the Chairs to recognize and reward excellence in academic advising in annual increment recommendations.  The Dean will consider recommendations for special merit increases based on exceptional advising performance.  Documented excellence in academic advising should be recognized in promotion and tenure cases.
