
Administrative and Professional Staff Dependent Scholarship Fund
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of APSAC's Dependent Scholarship Fund is to encourage dependents of IPFW's administrative and professional employees to take advantage of the outstanding educational opportunities we have at our Fort Wayne campus.
Criteria
- Student must be eligible for the fee remission under the Purdue University guidelines.
- Student must apply by sending a memorandum to Financial Aid Services which includes :
- The name of the sponsoring administrator (the student's parent, step-parent, or guardian)
- The administrator's campus telephone number
- The name of the student
- and if applicable the cumulative number of credit hours already completed.
- The memo must be received by Financial Aid Services by Aug. 1, (for Fall award, and/or academic year award), or by Dec. 1, (for a Spring only award).
- The student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 after the first semester of attendance and must not be an employee of IPFW who receives staff benefits.
- The student must reapply each year for this scholarship.
Due to these deadlines which APSAC has established, late applicants will no longer be considered
Administration of the Scholarship
The scholarship will be administered as follows:
- The amount of the award is $250.00 per semester for a total of $500.00 per year.
- The scholarship will be awarded once a year by August 15th.
- If there is money available, multiple scholarships will be awarded up to the total number of applicants.
- If there are more applicants than there is money available, the award will go to the students with the most accumulated credit hours. (An applicant with 80 total credit hours would receive the award before an applicant with 65 total credit hours.) Each applicant will receive $250.00 before any applicant can receive the full $500.00.
- Late applications will only be accepted if all qualified applicants who have applied by the deadline have received a full ($500.00) award.
- Applicants who have received a total of $2000.00 under this scholarship are not eligible to receive more money.
- Questions should be directed to the President of the Administrative Staff Council for consideration by the council.
