Ambassadon Group Expectations 2009/2010

Open Communication

-Maintaining a positive attitude

-24 hour rule

-Check your e-mail once every two days

 -A response is necessary

-Krissy, Laura, and host for event updates ASAP

-Give as much prior notice if you cannot make an event you are scheduled to work

-CC the other Ambassadons who are working at the event if you have to switch/reschedule

-Check e-mail daily

 

Respect

-Avoid side conversations in meetings/training sessions

-Tone of voice-maintain composure

-No phones on the table or in laps

-Dress your part (even for training)

-Allow group members to finish saying their opinion before interrupting

-Respect one another for our differences

 

Teamwork

-We are all on the same team

-Present a united front

-Democracy-you own what you decide

-Everyone contributes-including the “quiet types”…I disagree.  Forcing someone to speak out and spit out an opinion is not a good means of creating a constructive atmosphere.  You will most likely make that person feel uncomfortable and just worsen the situation.

-Move forward with any decisions

 

Commitment

-Maintain and continue to show commitment and support to your fellow Ambassadons

-Remember the 24 hour rule

-Be on time to events

 

Professionalism

-Stay composed in public

-Always wear the appropriate and full uniform

-Wear proper attire

Open Mindedness

-Keep in mind we are all different…though we disagree, keep in mind we can learn

-Do not judge a person’s background when attending events

-Be approachable

-Be open to all individual’s ideas and give them each an opportunity to speak

-Hear other group members out before making an opinion

 

Receptive Environment

-We are all on the same team even IF we disagree

-Respond to e-mails and requests in a timely manner

-Be aware if all ideas and pay attention to those who are speaking

-Pay attention when others are talking

 

Accountability

-Though it might not seem a big deal to you to not be on time or call but keep in mind that it affects us all…one way or another

-If you cannot make an event, make sure you contact the others who are attending as well as the steering committee

-Show up to meetings on time (at least five minutes early) 

-Don’t be a flake and bailout on your fellow members

 

Confidentiality

-What is said within the group stays within the group unless asked otherwise

-Anything said in the monthly meeting should be kept between the group

-What is discussed between Ambassadons should stay within the room 

-Confidentiality speaks for itself

 

Flexibility

-Keep in mind that we are all busy and “things happen”

-Offer availability to those who are looking for a sub

-Schedules should allow for changes in dates and times

-Be open to changes in events

 

-Participate

-Come prepared

-HAVE FUN

-Know that some things are for your own good in the long run

-Be Approachable
